Chapter 1

Cath yawned and stretched out her arms, she felt a little light headed, and disorientated. She looked to her right and saw the coffee table with two empty wine glasses on it, she also realised this was not her coffee table. She was laying on Gil Grissom couch " oh no I fell asleep on him" she thought. Cath got up and cleared the wine glasses, her head was full of confused thoughts, should she make a quick exit and apologise to him tomorrow, or should she stay. Her head was telling her to leave, he would understand wouldn't he, but then it might seem rude to leave, and she didnt want to hurt him. Especially after the lovely breakfast they had shared and the comfort they had felt in each others company.

As she walked back from the kitchen she noticed that Gil had left his door ajar, Cath felt a rush of temptation, should she take a peek, oh she would love to see what he looked liked while he slept and the chance to see Gil Grissom bedroom was an opportunity not to be missed. She peeked in from the door, the room seemed quiet apart from the soft breathing sounds of Gil, he lay in the double bed, fast asleep on his back, she noticed how peaceful he looked, his chest rising slowly up and down and his hair look ruffled and wavy. Her mind raced with possibilites, she so wanted to run her fingers through his hair, touch and stroke his beard, she wanted to be in that bed with him. Cath knew that things had not been great between them but she was sure that he had been flirting wih her earlier and she had caught him checking her out earlier in the day. Maybe he felt the attraction, the chemistry she had felt.

Suddenly she decided she would take the risk, he may reject her, but Gil was not the sort of man to let personal matters effect his work. She slowly walked into his room, she turned and gently closed the door, she wasn't sure why she closed the door, it wasn't like someone was going to walk in, and she wasn't sure that there would be anything to walk in on, but it seemed the right thing to do.

Her heart began to pound and her hands shook as she got closer to the sleeping Gil, she had no idea what she was going to do or say, but she needed to be near him. She got to the side of the bed Gil was sleeping on, it was then that her body took over and stopped thinking and watched as her right hand moved closer to him and her fingers gently began to run through his hair. She sat on the edge of the bed so she could balance herself. Gil let out a small sigh of relaxation and Cath began to stroke his beard with her other hand. Gil began to stir and opened his eyes " Cath what are you doing?, I mean erm uh?". "Shh Gil, you looked so peaceful and I just needed to be near you".

Gil gently took hold of Caths hands and removed them from his face, he sat up so that he was facing her. "Cath why are you doing this?" he asked again "Im not sure I understand". Cath smiled at him and looked down realising he still had hold of her hands. "Gil I'm sick of playing games, I care for you I know its scary but I need you to understand I don't want to change you, but I do want to be with you". Gil smiled and said "I want to change for you Cath, I don't want any secrets between us, I want to be with you too" he said nervously. "Erm what should we do now " His cheeks flushed red, he felt a fool for not knowing what to do or say next. "I don't want to rush things, if that's ok". Cath nodded "Sure I can go back and sleep on the couch, but your not going to get away without a kiss". She leaned forward and put her arms around him, he held her and gently began to rub her back. "Cath" he whispered "Thank you for this, im not sure I would have ever had the courage to do this".

Cath lent back and gently kissed him on the forehead, then she kissed him on the left side of his face and then the right, and then finally she kissed him on the lips. Grissom felt his emotional barriers drop and began to kiss her with more passion, she moaned and lent back " Gil, we can do this, we can make this work" she lent forward again, kissing him , trying to show him how much she cared for him, how she loved him and make him feel loved. "Cath don't go back to the couch stay here with me" .

Catherine smiled she knew he didn't want to rush things and she was not going to push him, Gil was a private man, she knew it may take a while before there relationship became sexual, but it was worth the wait. "Can I borrow a t-shirt, I would rather not sleep in these clothes". Cath suddenly felt nervous, that he would change his mind. Gil climbed out of bed and went to his chest of drawers and removed a t-shirt, on it was a picture of a grasshopper, "Is this ok, Grasshopper?" he asked cheekily, Cath laughed " Its fine, master" she replyed. Gil laughed that she still remembered the exchange they had a few years ago.

Cath walked to bathroom and changed and washed her face and the returned to the bedroom, Gil had returned to bed. Cath pulled up the covers and slid into bed she crawled next to him and gently began to kiss him, she moaned as she felt him roll them over so that he was on top of her and there hands began to roam. Cath gasped "I thought you wanted to take it slow", he whispered back "I think we have waited too long for this, I love you", "I love you too Gil".
