The sunshine was streaming through the window when Catherine woke up. She opened her eyes and blinked a few times before realizing where she was. Gil's apartment.

Catherine propped her head up on her pillow and looked over at Gil's sleeping form. Watching his chest rising and falling, rising and falling...

She loved him so much.

She smiled looking back on at all the memories. He made Lindsey happy. That was a big part of their relationship. She needed to be sure that Lindsey would be happy too. She had never seen her daughter as happy as when the three of them all did something together.

After the divorce with Eddie, Gil had been there to help her with Lindsey, just as he had been there so many other times.

That was another good thing about Gil. He was so damn dependable. Whenever she needed him, he would be there in the flash of an eye.

Dependable, there was something Eddie sure wasn't. He had never been dependable, infact, when Catherine was in labor with Lindsey, Gil had been the one there to take her to the hospital and stay with her, not Eddie.

`That son of a bitch' she thought to herself.

She stopped in mid-thought. She was content now. She and Gil had finally found each other after seventeen years of soul searching and she was truly happy. She wasn't about to let thoughts of her ex rain on her parade.

He stirred, eyes fluttering before revealing his beautiful blue eyes.

"Morning," he said moving closer to kiss her.

"G'Morning," she said dreamily.

He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her to his chest. She could hear his heart beating.

"Catherine," he said, looking down at her.

"Uhuh?"

"Breakfast?"

"Breakfast would be great," she said as he gently lifted her head off his chest, got up and headed for the kitchen. "Breakfast would be perfect."
