| Disclaimer: Me No Own CSI. lol. Summary: Lindsey's graduating, but still finds time to put her mother and Gil together. | ||
Lindsey Willows was finally at peace with her appearence. Having gotten out of school early to get her hair and make-up done professionally, and slipped into her gorgeous dress and perfect heels, she stopped to check her appearence before she left her room. She made her dress look like it was made for her. It was strapless, light blue and tight until a dark blue ribbon wrapped around her waist and tied a pretty bow at her side. It came down, just brushing against the floor. It had taken weeks to find this dress, but luckily all that walking payed off - her mother had fallen in love with the dress immediately after she saw Lindsey in it. Lindsey smirked. It was hilarious watching her mother trying not to cry while nodding that she could get the dress. Fortunately, this was in a completely different town, where Lindsey knew no one, and wouldn't be back again to that town. It was this close from becoming hick, and Lindsey Willows was having nothing to do with hicks. So she leaned over and put her small tin of mints in her dark blue purse, along with her lip gloss and touch-up make-up. She double checked that her heels were tied just above her ankles, and took a deep breath. She was ready to face her mother, and the team. As soon as came into view of the CSI team her mother worked with, the whole house became silent. Lindsey's cheeks began to burn underneath her blush and the eyes of the people waiting for her at the bottom. This was going to be worse than prom. She made it down to the bottom, going as fast as her heels would carry her. She raised her eyebrow at her mother, before smiling at her, and pulling her close for a hug. "Watch the hair..." Lindsey said, as she pulled away from her mother. Catherine smiled at her, through watery eyes, and she turned to Gil, letting out a sigh of relief that she had gotten through the 'I-can't-believe-you're-growing-up' hug with her mother, with her hair and make-up still intact. Lindsey ignored all other stares from Greg, Sara, Nick, and Warrick and his wife, as she looked through the side window of her door. She saw a black stretch limo coming up the street, no doubtedly carrying her friends, their boyfriends, and hers. She let out a small inward grown with that last thought. She was going to have to introduce her mother to Brett. She turned around, and smiled at the 'family'. "Well, everyone's outside. See you after the ceremony!" she called, as she opened the door, and headed down the driveway. Just as she got the end of the driveway, the limo door swung open, and laughter was heard. Lindsey smiled, as her boyfriend of offically 9 months got out with a small box. She gave him her mother's dazzeling smile, and he have her his own. "Here you go, Linds." he passed her the box. She shivered with excitement, as she opened it. Her mouth fell open, as she saw the coursage that she had shown her best friend, Anna, when they were looking for purses. It was, as the flourist put it a 'Chocolate Cosmos Wrist Coursage'. Whatever that meant. Lindsey looked up with a huge smile on her face. "Thanks Brett..." she said, before pulling him down to her height for a quick kiss on the cheek. Brett smiled, took the coursage from her, and slipped it onto her wrist. After, he wrapped his arm around her waist. "After you, madam..." he joked, bowing and showing her his hand into the limo. Lindsey let out a laugh, and hopped in, sitting next to Anna. ~*~*~*~ She had gotten through the graduation cermony, without falling, stumbling, knocking anything over, or dropping her English Lit award. And for Lindsey, that was doing pretty darn good. Just as everyone was flooding the cafeteria, and heading into the gym, her mother came up to her, with her friends in tow. "Hey Lindsey, congrads on the award." Nick said, patting her on the back. Lindsey raised her eyebrow at him, looking just like her mother in the process. "Uh... thanks." And after that, the CSIs went off to do their own thing, probably getting ready for that secret party her mother was throwing for her graduation. Like it was a secret anyway. Thank God the actual grad party, the one that she wanted to go to, was on Saturday night. She had gotten it out Greg before she found her grad dress. Finally, it was just her, her mother and Gil, and Lindsey turned to both of them. "You two have to stay for few extra minutes, okay? But then you leave, alright? I'll be back after the dance, promise." Catherine nodded, but Gil seemed to be confused. Suddenly, over the PA system, the principle came on and announced that they would be sharing the Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dance now. Lindsey looked over at Gil, and grabbed his hand, dragging him into the gym. The music started, and after giving her mother a smile, Lindsey looked back at Gil. "Well? Dance with me." It seemed to have finally registered with him what and why she wanted him to do. He took her hand, and placed his other at her waist lightly. Her other hand went to his shoulder, and as they started dancing, she looked up at him. "You know, you should really just tell her." He looked down at her with the complete utter confusion that only a man could show. Lindsey rolled her eyes. "You know. Tell Mom that you love her. You two would make such a sweet couple." He frowned, and opened his mouth to say something, but Lindsey cut him off again. She was her mother's daughter. "Don't worry about how I know. The only thing that confuses me, is how you two don't know that you love each other. So just go and ask her out. She'd probably have a heart attack, because she wants it so much. Just keep the macking down to a zero when I'm around, okay?" Gil opened his mouth, but moved it into a smile. "You're so much like your mother." "Ya, ya, ya. Instead of complimenting her, trying complimenting me." Lindsey grinned. "You have no idea how proud we are of you Lindsey." He told her. Lindsey blushed slightly, and glanced down at her feet, before back up in his eyes. "Thanks. Glad to be of service. Now go, and ask her out!" she pulled away from him after the song was over, and pointed towards her mother, who was watching them happily. She watched him walk over to her mother, but instead of stopping and talking to Catherine, he leaned down, and kissed her, his hands wrapping around her waist and neck. It wasn't too long before Catherine's hands wrapped around his neck, and Lindsey turned around saying, "Eww." and shuddering slightly. "So.. those your folks." Brett said, appearing in front of her, nodding behind Lindsey towards Gil and Catherine, who were still kissing. Lindsey shuddered again, and nodded. "Yup. Unfortunately." Brett shrugged. "I can live with that." he grinned. "Now, how about a dance, milady?" Lindsey pretended to be thinking for a moment. "I suppose, if I have to." she laughed, as he pulled her close and kissed her. | ||
