Dance With Me
by Kel
Summary: Dance with me Catherine.
Disclaimer: I don't own the characters, or the song. It's Sarah McLaughlin's `I Love You'.
A/N: I don't know if the song is a slow one, because I've never heard it, but it looks like it is, so it will be for this story, lol.

Catherine began to quietly hum to herself as she went through her pile of paperwork. Occasionally, she would glance up at Gil, who was on the other side of his desk. She would smile, then shake her head, smiling, and go back to her work.

"I got a smile…" Catherine softly sang, without even noticing.

Gil looked up, and smiled at her, watching her work. Her hair fell into her eyes, and she would brush it back, just to have a piece of her long bangs, fall back into her downward tilted face. He set his pen down, and moved his head slightly to the side, in an attempt to see her beautiful blue-green eyes.

She felt herself being watched, and she glanced up. She smiled. "What?" she asked, blushing slightly, that he had been staring at her, watching her.

He took a second to think about that question. There were two things that he could do. He could just shrug, smile, and reply, `nothing', or he could do what he's always wanted to do.

He pushed his chair back, and was about to stand, when he paused. "Would you like to dance with me?"

Catherine frowned. "There's no music, and you can't exactly dance to your opera."

"Sing."

Catherine's eyes widened, as she watched him stand, and walk around the desk. He stood beside her chair, and offered his hand. "I can't sing Gil…"

"Catherine, don't start with me." He raised his eyebrow, and lifted his hand higher.

Catherine opened her mouth to give him some smart-ass reply, but instead, she closed it again, and gave him her hand. She stood up from her chair, and placed her hand on his shoulder. Taking her small hand into his large, he slowly began to lead her.

"Well?" He asked.

She let out a small chuckle. "Sorry."

I have a smile
Stretched from ear to ear
To see you walking down the road

He breathed in her scent of strawberries, as he pulled her closer.

We meet at the lights
I stare for a while
The world around disappears

She placed her head on his chest, smiling, as she sang.

Just you and me
On this island of hope
A breath between us could be miles

He could feel her sing into him, he rested his chin on her head.

Let me surround you
My sea to your shore
Let me be the calm you seek

He slowly, gently, pushed her away, and spun in her a circle, and back into his chest. She let out a small laugh as she sang.

Oh and every time I'm close to you
There's too much I can't say
And you just walk away

She snuggled in closer to him, letting his warmth, warm her.

And I forgot
To tell you
I love you
And the nights
Too long
And cold here
Without you
I grieve in my condition
For I cannot find the strength to say I need you so

She looked up, feeling his chin rise from the crown of her head. Her eyes searched through his, and his searched through hers. They stood there for a few seconds, until Gil pulled his hand from hers, and he pulled his other hand from around her waist, up to cup her face. Pausing, he searched her eyes once more, then leaned down, and gave her a gentle kiss. Her hands wrapped around neck, as she pulled herself up closer to him, and deepened the kiss.

They broke, both of them breathing hard. Catherine smiled, and leaned back into his body, pulling him into a hug.

"Catherine?" he asked quietly.

She answered, by pulling away slightly, and looking into his eyes.

"I need you." He said.

A smile spread across her face, as she leaned back into him. "I love you too Gil."
