Chapter One

Lindsey ans Greg walked in the lab hand-in-hand. They had spent the day together at the park. They headed straight for the break room and sat at the table next to each other.

"Hey Greg, hey Linds,"

"Hey Sara, hey guys!"

Nick and Warrick didn't even look up but just mumbled a 'hey'. Soon after Gil and Cath came in with the assignments.

"Greg, you get to be in the field tonight, you, Nick, and Warrick have a double murder out in Henderson. Sara, you and I have a double on the strip. Cath, you get to work on your paperwork until another call comes in."

"Don't you mean your paperwork?"

Gil smiled.

"Yah, if you truly want to you can do that for me too."

Cath rolled her eyes. They all got up and separated to where they needed to go.

~in the lab~

"So Linds, how was your date with Greg?"

"Didn't Dad ask you to work on your.. I mean Dad's paperwork?"

Cath sat down next to her.

"Oh please, he'd be grateful even if I just got a quarter of it done."

"OK, OK, it was soooo wonderful today. We took a walk throughout the entire park. We then stopped at on the hot dog stands and then sat and ate. He even bought be 2 scoops of my favorite ice cream. Then when we passed the playground Greg insisted that we act like 5 year-olds and play. The pictures came out great, I'll put them on my computer now."

She grabbed her camera from her purse and grabbed the memory card. Cath decided to go grab them two waters while she worked on the pictures. Catherine was taking a sip from her water when Lindsey thought of something.

"Oh Mom, did I mention that we also snuck behind some bushes and had sex?"

Cath choked on her water and Lindsey started to crack up.

"Oh boy Mom you should have seen your reaction."

Cath glared at her.

"That was soooo NOT funny."

Lindsey stopped laughing.

"You're right it wasn't funny.... it was hysterical."

They started looking through all the pictures. They both decided that the funniest was a picture of Greg playing on the monkey bars. There were also some adorable pictures from when they asked one of the adults there to take a picture of them going down the slide together, one of them on the swings, and a few pictures of them on a bench. They chatted for a bit longer before Cath decided that she better go start on Gil's paperwork.

~Later that shift in the lobby~

Nick, Warrick, and Greg just came back from their crime scene and they were exhausted.

"Guys, I'll take this stuff to Lindsey so you guys can go take a break."

Nick and Warrick both laughed.

"Yeah I'm sure that's the only reason you want to take it. But since we're nice guys we'll take you up on your offer."

Greg grabbed the box and headed to see Lindsey. He silently placed the box down and wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her on the cheek.

"Hey how are you doing?"

Gil walked by at that moment.

"GREG! Stop distracting my daughter!"

Greg jumped and let go of her.

"Dad he wasn't distracting me, he didn't even have anything to distract me from, unless you want to count the pictures from our date."

Gil grimaced and went in search of his wife and paperwork. Lindsey turned to him and gave him a quick kiss.

"Don't worry about my dad, he loves you in a very special way."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, so are you still coming over tonight for dinner?"

"Yeah of course."

"Great, see you later tonight then hun."

They kissed one more time and then he left. She finished up and went to find Gil and Cath.

~Later that night~

"OK, everything set, table check, dinner check, candles check, ring crap better get it."

He ran upstairs into his room and grabbed the box with the ring inside it. The door rang and he went downstairs to get it.

"Hey"

"Hey"

She leaned up and gave him a kiss.

"I love you,"

"I love you too"

They walked into his kitchen and she gasped at the sight. Flowers and candles were everywhere. The table had two candles placed in the center. She turned around and gave him another kiss.

"What's all this for?"

"Don't worry you'll see later on."

He led them over to the chairs making sure she was set before he sat down. They ate in silence, occasionally holding hands. Once dinner was finished Greg got up and cleared the table and refused to let Lindsey help. She went in and sat on his sofa while he finished. Greg came in and sat on the coffee table in front of her and held both her hands.

"Lindsey, ever since I met you I've always loved something about you. You are such a caring, funny, strong, intelligent woman. You know more about me than anyone. I can't live a day without seeing you and I think about you every minute. That's why I'm asking you this...."

He got down on one knee and pulled out the ring.

"Will you marry me?"

He held his breath waiting for her answer. But that wasn't to long.

"YES! YES of course I'll marry you!"

He slipped the ring onto her finger and then leaned in and kissed her.
