Author's Note: Thanks for all the encouraging reviews. This is the next part in the unnamed series following `Why Not'. Please note that I do not have a beta, thus all errors are regrettably mine and mine alone.

`Argh, do I feel ancient or what? There's no way I'm going to wear these stuff. They're so…..so young!' Catherine said in disgust as she thumbed through the various garments on the rack.

`These were definitely not designed with people like me in mind. What happened to all the tents and frills and bows that I was subjected to the last time around?' She grumbled as she gestured towards the vividly coloured and mostly tight-fitting garments.

`And just look at the other shoppers in here. I bet I'm the oldest one in here. They look closer to Lindsey's age than mine!'

`Honey, you may be older than them, but you're still as attractive as them, if not more!'

`You'd say that, you're the reason why I have to be here anyway!'

`Well, I'm not going to apologise for that. Come on honey, why don't we just go to another store. I'm sure you'll find something you like somewhere.'

`Grr, you owe me big time for this Gil Grissom.'

`Hmm, did anyone tell you that you're really cute when you get all flustered like that?'

`Why you…..'

Gil took Catherine's hand and led her out of the store.

Pulling her into his arms, Gil pressed a soft kiss to his wife's forehead and asked with a note of worry in his voice.

`Seriously Cath, you're not resentful or anything about this are you?'

Catherine's scowl softened as she saw the apprehensive look on Gil's face.

Putting a gentle hand on his cheek, Catherine attempted to soothe him by saying, `No, why would I be? Although I would have preferred it to have happened a few years earlier so that I could enjoy this better, I'm over the moon about this. Other than the fact that I can't seem to find any clothes that fit.' Catherine said with a mock frown.

`If only you bucked up the courage to tell me how you felt earlier bugman!'

`You're lucky I ever bucked up the courage to do so in the first place! And that was partly because of Lindsey's decision that she wanted a baby brother or sister that gave me some sort of Dutch courage!' he retorted.

`True.' Catherine said as she winced.

Gil immediately bent over her in concern.

`Are you alright honey?'

`Yeah, our son was just trying to tell us that he's awake.' Catherine said, taking her husband's hand and placing his hand on her gently swelling stomach.

`Come on honey, let's go home. We'll leave the shopping for some other time.'

The couple shared a smile and a gentle kiss before Gil took his wife home.
