Gil pulled up on to Catherine’s driveway in his Denali. He’d waited a whole month to surprise Catherine and he couldn’t wait any longer. They had been together 8 months and everything was going great, he had practically moved in with her a Lindsey. He had decided on his pre-Christmas surprise after they had worked a recent case together. Catherine had let slip that she had never been to New York. So Gil thought he would combine two things Catherine loved, shopping and a surprise to go with it.

Lindsey thought it was a great surprise for her mom and she knew she would get a good present out of it. Lindsey would be spending the days Cath and Gil were away with Eddies parents before they spent their first Christmas together as a family.

Gil slipped into the house, careful not to wake anyone, he set his keys on the table and hung up his jacket taking the airline tickets out of his inside pocket. He hadn’t told Catherine he would be finishing his shift early so this would be a real surprise. Catherine had already taken the night off after Gil had insisted she had worked enough hours on overtime. Little did she know this was all part of his plan.

Gil quietly opened their bedroom door and walked over to their bed which had Catherine tightly wrapped up in the duvet sound asleep. As Gil sat on the bed Catherine woke up with a start.

“GIL! Jesus, you almost gave me a heart attack.”

“Sorry sweetheart I didn’t mean to wake you. You just looked so beautiful asleep.” Gil said with a slight chuckle. He would never tell her but he loved her annoyed look.

“Is everything okay? What are you doing home, has something happened?” Catherine said slightly concerned.

“Cath contrary to what most people believe my life no longer consumed by work, but with my family. I’ve taken a few hours off so I can come and crawl into bed with the light of my life. Now come here and give your man a hug.”

Cath crawled into his arms with a smile on her face, resting her head on his chest. She loved this side of Gil the one only she and Lindsey got to see.

“Mmmm….you feel so good.” Catherine tilted her head upwards and met Gils lips as they shared a gentle kiss. They continued like this for a few minutes before Catherine pulled away. “Are you going to take your clothes off and get in here or am I going to have to do that for.” As she began pulling at his shirt.

Gil took Catherine’s hand in his “I will in a minute, but first I have a surprise for you.”

“A surprise for me, Gil you shouldn’t have.” Catherine’s eyes lit up she loved surprises.

Gil sat up and looked at Catherine “You remember that case we worked a month back? The one where I took you for a little walk in the desert? And you made me give you one of my legendary foot massages afterwards.”

Catherine nodded, wondering where he was going with this.

“Well you told me something on that walk. About how you have never travelled much and that you have never been to New York.” Gil couldn’t help the smile on his face, Catherine was looking at him like a child on Christmas morning.

“Gil you didn’t?” As it dawned on Catherine what Gil had done.

“Yes I did, you and I are catching a plane to New York in eight hours baby. Merry Christmas.” With that Gil handed Catherine the tickets.

All she could do was jumped on him straddling his lap, taking his head in her hands, pulling him into a deep kiss.

“God I love you Gil Grissom.” She said between kisses

“Love you back sweetheart.”

If they didn’t have to catch a plane in a few hours the kiss would have led to more but for now they were happy to cuddle up together and get some sleep. Their dreams filled with all the sights and sounds they would see in New York.

“CATH! Come on the taxi is waiting, we’ll miss the plane.” Gil shouted from the front door.

“I’m here, let me just set the house alarm, don’t want anyone stealing your Christmas present now do we.” Catherine said with a dazzling smile.

“Sweetheart you’re all the Christmas present I need.” Gil wrapped is arm around Cath’s waist from behind and nuzzled her neck. “Now get that sweet tush of yours in the cab.”

Six hours later had Catherine and Gil walking hand-in-hand in Central Park. They had left their luggage at the Ritz Carlton hotel a beautifully grand hotel that took Catherine’s breath away. The foyer floors were marble and the intricate carvings on the ceiling were exquisite.

As they strolled hand-in-hand around Strawberry Fields they caught a horse and cart ride and went around the rest of the park. Gil pointed out some of the older buildings he found interesting, while Catherine’s eyes sparkled in wonder. As it was getting late Gil suggested that they head back to the hotel and have a meal in the restaurant.

As they entered their hotel room after their meal Catherine saw a trail of rose petals from the door to the bed where on the bedside table there was an ice bucket with a bottle of champagne and two champagne flutes.

“Gil you spoil me too much.” Catherine turned in his arms and gave him a gentle kiss which he deepened in seconds as she pulled him towards the bed.

“Not yet baby, I have another little something for you.” He said disappearing into the bathroom.

Gil checked that the Jacuzzi bath had been filled with hot water and more rose petals and he lit the candles that had been left.

“Sweetheart, can you come in here and help me with something?”

Catherine walked into the bathroom “Oh Gil it’s beautiful.”

“Thought you might want a bath to relax, we’ve had a busy day. I may even give you a foot massage.”

“What did I do to deserve you?” Catherine wrapped her arms around his neck and placed butterfly kisses on his face and neck.

“You love me.” Gil replied sincerely.

Catherine had tears in her eyes, tears of joy.

“Shh… baby don’t cry.” Gil began kissing and nuzzling her neck.

“You make me so happy Gil.” Cath ran her hands through his thick curly hair.

Gil pulled Catherine’s thick jumper over her head and placed kisses to her milky white shoulders and deftly undid her bra freeing her breasts. Gil sucked and nipped at her breasts causing Catherine to moan and groan her appreciation. Her pulled her pants off taking her panties with them, then took her left hand and led her to the huge bath tub.

“Aren’t you joining me.”

“Of course, I’m just going to get the champagne.” Moments later Gil returned champagne in hand. He quickly stripped and joined Catherine in the tub. He popped the cork on the champers and poured it into their flutes.

“A toast……to us.”

“To us.” Catherine repeated.

They chinked there two glasses together and shared a passionate kiss.

Gil gently washed Catherine in the soapy bubbles and Catherine repeated the action on Gil. After they had washed each other, the got out of the tub and gently dried each other. As Cath finished drying Gil she began placing butterfly kisses on his chest and his stomach. She grabbed his butt cheeks as she kissed his thighs bypassing his very large erection.

“Come on bugman lets get in that big bed.” Catherine took hold of Gil’s hand and tugged him back to the bedroom.

The next day Gil let Catherine drag him around the shops in the morning. When they went passed Victoria’s Secret , Cath sent Gil to the book shop next door so he could get Lindsey a history book she needed. Catherine wanted to get a little something from Victoria’s Secret as a surprise for Gil. She wanted to spoil him for once.

Gil quickly got the book as he also wanted to purchase a little something from Tiffany & Co, a present for Christmas morning.

As they met each other outside the book store Gil eyed the bag Catherine had with a smile.

“What do you have in there?”

“Nothing for you to see yet.” Replied Cath with a smug grin.

“Shall we go drop the bags at the hotel?” enquired Gil “Sounds like a plan.”

After they had grabbed lunch Gil took Catherine to the Rockafeller Centre. Catherine was in awe at the site of all the flags and the large Christmas tree with it twinkling white lights. She was desperate to try ice skating but didn’t think Gil would go for it.

“Fancy having a go on the ice?”

“You serious?” Replied Catherine with a big grin.

“Of course come on.” With that Gil grabbed her hand and then went to change into skates.

Catherine couldn’t believe it Gil was a natural on the ice. He guided her around making sure she didn’t fall.

“Okay, what gives bugman? Why are you so good on the ice?”

“I used to play ice hockey as a kid.”

“Really you never said.”

“Just one of my many talents baby.” He replied with a lob-sided grin and a wink.

This almost caused Cath to fall. When he winked at her like that it always made her go weak at the knees. But as always Gil was there to catch her.

As it got dark Gil took Catherine to the top of the empire state building to see New York by night. It was a beautiful sight all the lights twinkling away as they stood in the cold night air. Gil wrapped his arms around her to keep he warm. As they stood admiring the view a flurry of snowflakes began to fall.

“Thank you for this Gil it’s been wonderful.”

“Your welcome sweetheart, I love you and I want to make you happy. You have changed my life so much for the better, that I just wanted to do something to show you I love you.”

“Gil you show me everyday how much you love me with the little things you do and the notes you leave in my office. I love you more than I’ve loved any man and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. So when we get home will you move in properly with me and Lindsey and sell your townhouse?”

“Yes I will.” Gil leaned his head against Catherine’s and gave her an eskimo kiss, and then gently kissed her on the lips.

“Take me back to the hotel and make love to me Gil.”

“My pleasure.”

They had a night of hot and heavy passion, making love several times. Catherine gave in and wore her little something, something from Victoria’s Secret for Gil, which drove him wild.

They both got on the plane the next day exhausted. Gil still had his little gift for Catherine which he had managed to hide away. Unbeknown to both of them Catherine would have her own little surprise for Gil in about 3 weeks. Something they made together on this little trip.
