Gil and Catherine had been
together eight glorious months. It was Gil's surgery that bought them
together, him letting her in and explaining his darkest fears, made her
realise how much she loved him. When she finally plucked up the courage to
tell him her feelings, she cried when he told her he loved her too. But he
was scared he would ruin everything, due to his lack of personal
skills.
They started off slowly, going out on dates on their nights off
and spending time with Lindsey together.
When they finally took the next
step, it blew Catherine's mind she
never realised that Gil would be such
an amazing lover, he made her see more than stars.
They were made for each
other they fitted perfectly.
After three months Gil moved in to Catherine's
house with her and Lindsey, while they looked for a place they could call
there own. Lindsey loved having Gil around they would spend hours going
through his butterfly collection and talking about bugs. Without
realising it Gil had become a father to Lindsey so much so she now called
him Dad.
Four weeks ago they finally moved into their new home
2743 Hamiltonside Lane.
It had everything they wanted, a walk-in closet
for Catherine, an en- suite bathroom for Lindsey, and a basement for Gil to
keep his bugs.
As they were now settled in to their new life together,
they decided to let their teams know about their relationship. Though they
had both told their best friends, Jim Brass and Jacqui Rosemont.
They couldn't be happier for the pair.
When the teams found out
everyone was over the moon, even Sarah seemed happy for them. So tonight
Warrick was throwing a BBQ at his house in their honour.
"Babe do we
have to go tonight?" Gil asked, snuggling closer to Catherine as they lay on
their bed, Catherine reading the latest issue of Cosmo.
"Sweetheart we
have to, Warrick is throwing this party for us." Replied Catherine as she
ruffled Gil's curly hair. Gil pouted his lips, which made Catherine giggle,
she leant in and gave him a quick kiss. Before she knew it Gil had deepened
the kiss. Their tongues duelled for several minutes before Catherine came
up for air.
"Sweetheart, I would love to continue this but we have to
get ready." With that Catherine got up from the bed and headed to their
en-suite bathroom.
"MOM! Come on we're supposed to be picking Jess up
like ten minutes ago." Shouted Lindsey from the bottom of the stairs
as her and Gil waited for Catherine.
"I'm coming, I'm coming." replied
Catherine as she sauntered down the stairs.
"Mom, you started getting
ready before me and Dad, and you still manage to be late."
"Hey cheeky, it
takes time for me to look decent." replied Catherine as they headed for the
door.
As Gil allowed his girls through the door before turning to lock
it he turned to Catherine "Sweetheart you could wear a bin bag and you'd
still look beautiful to me."
"Not looking bad yourself sexy. By the way you
could have helped me out there, it was your fault we were late keeping me
occupied in the shower."
"I didn't hear you complaining, more like asking
for more." Gil smirked and winked at Catherine, giving her a peck
on the nose.
"COME ON GUYS!!!!" Shouted Lindsey, as she stood by their
car waiting. "Coming." came the reply.
"About time, thought you'd
bailed on us." said Warrick as he led Gil, Catherine, Lindsey and her friend
Jess round the back of his house to where everyone was. Everyone they
worked with was there, to show how happy they were for the couple.
There
was of course Greg's motto of any excuse for a party.
Gil and Catherine
mingled with the friends laughing and joking, unawares as to the mischief
their daughter was getting up to with Greg and Jess.
Unbeknownst to
everyone Greg had located some water balloons and was busy filling them in
the kitchen sink.
Sarah was sat in the corner of the patio nursing her
sixth drink. Watching how happy Gil and Catherine were was making her angry.
She had tried to be happy for him, but being happy for him meant
being happy for Catherine and she couldn't bring herself to do that. She
had always seen Catherine as a threat personally and professionally and
couldn't understand why Gil would fall for someone she considered, only good
enough to dance for leering old men.
Sarah downed the last of her
drink and walked over and picked up another one.
Nick noticed Sarah
stagger towards the keg and went to chat to her.
"You okay?" Nick
enquired "Yeah absolutely dandy. Why wouldn't I be?" Sarah slurred "Well I
noticed you knocking the drinks back. You wouldn't be drowning your sorrows
by any chance?" "What are you my Dad?" Sarah snapped. "Look I just don't
want you to do anything you'll regret, just lay off the booze." Came Nick's
concerned reply. He knew Sarah had previously harboured feelings for Grissom,
but though she got had got over it. Clearly not from the way she was
behaving.
Nick thought he'd better keep an eye on her and went to get
her some food to soak up the alcohol.
"Hey you." said Gil as he walked
up behind Catherine and wrapped his arms around her waist, resting his chin
on her shoulder. "Hey. You having more fun than you thought you would?"
said Catherine leaning back into Gil' embrace.
"Yeah, but I still can't
wait to get you home, and continue where we left off." said Gil as he nibbled
on Catherine's earlobe, she began to giggle. "You're insatiable Gil
Grissom."
"Did you ever think you'd see that." Said Warrick as
he nodded in Gil and Catherine's direction. "Them two were meant for
each other. They just had to realise it." Came Jim's reply, not wanting to
let on that he had known for months.
SPLASH!!!
"Hey!" shouted
Archie as Greg narrowly missed him with a water balloon.
Lindsey and
Jess stood giggling fully armed with water balloons. "Nick!" shouted
Lindsey.
As Nick turned around Lindsey let fly with a water balloon but
Nick was too quick and moved out of the way.
Unfortunately Sarah was
oblivious to the events in front of her and felt the full force of the water
balloon square on the chest drenching her.
Sarah's expression was that of
pure fury, while Nick couldn't hold his laughter in.
Sarah looked
straight at Lindsey who was also giggling with her friend, and marched up to
her.
"YOU STUPID LITTLE BITCH!!!!!!" Sarah shouted.
"DON'T YOU
DARE TALK TO MY DAUGHTER LIKE THAT." Gil was furious.
