Catherine whisked around the end of the aisle only to come to a complete halt behind two elderly ladies. Saturday morning was obviously the wrong time to go grocery shopping. Every senior citizen in Vegas had to be in this store. She could hear her son babbling away. She was considering a detour around the island of tomatoes when she heard Gil's voice. "Really? And then what?" He asked somewhat distractedly; his mind occupied with choosing a pineapple. The baby continued his incoherent tale. "Oh, that's so sweet!" One of the little old ladies told the other. Catherine moved so she could see between the two ladies and catch a candid moment of interaction between her husband and son. "Well, I bet that was exciting!" Gil responded to his little baby boy. He leaned over the cart, placed the pineapple inside and focused his full attention on his son. He caught one tiny hand in his and planted a kiss on his forehead. "What did you do next?" He inquired with a playful smile curling around his lips, completely oblivious to their audience. The baby laughed, kicked his feet and resumed his babbling. "And did you win the fair maiden's heart?" He asked at the baby's next pause. One of the elderly ladies noticed Catherine standing behind them and with a `excuse me' moved aside to allow her to pass. "Thank you." She said and moved toward their cart to deposit her items. "Has Andrew been entertaining you?" She asked. "Most definitely." He replied, his ears turning red as he realized he had an audience. He smirked at her, and chewed at the corner of his mouth. Then returned his attention to his tiny son. "Those avocados just won't do, will they?" He asked him. | ||
