It was late in the night, the blue sky was covered by stars and all around was silence.

In his living room, Gil Grissom was reading a book but he couldn't pay attention to what he was reading because his mind was still looking back to his discussion with Catherine.

They had been together for six months but none of them could understand what was happening.

Catherine wanted to deepen their relationship, he knew she loved him but he didn't know what to do.

That morning she arrived to his office saying "We need to talk"

He looked at her in a curious way and answered "About?"

"You and me" then she closed the door and sat in front of his desk.

"What's the matter?"

" You know!"

" I really don't know. Would you tell me what you're talking about?"

Catherine snorted and then started " I'd like to know what you're going to do."

" What am I going to do?"

" We've been together from six months and I think we can deepen this situation...."

" How can I help you?"

Catherine fell silent for a while then answered " You can tell me if you're going to make it public.Will you marry me?"

Gil looked at her amazed, he didn't expect this request from her; all had happened quickly and now she wanted to get married.

"Cath...I don't know how to tell you" Gil started to talk but he couldn't finish because Cath stood up suddenly and said "So...you're not going to marry me?"

"Cath..I ..."

"NO GIL!" She screamed " I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANYMORE! YOU'RE NOT GOING TO MARRY ME! I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU ANYMORE! IT'S OVER!!!"

She left the room leaving Gil watching the empty chair. He returned to his work but he couldn't pay attention to what he was doing so decided to go home.

Then he tried to call her at home then to her cell phone but she didn't answer so he gave up and relaxed.

A call interrupted his rest.

"Yes?"

"Mr Grissom? It's Doctor Alan Gundin."

"How can I help you?"

"I've asked the department your number because I need to talk to Mrs Willows.

I've tried to call her fruitlessly. Do you know where I can find her?"

"I'm sorry doctor Gundin. I really don't know how to help you."

" Thanks. Could you do me favor?"

"Sure. Tell me!"

"I If you see her could you tell her that the baby is all right?"

"The baby? Lindsey isn't right?"

"No, Lindsey is right Mr Grissom. I'm talking about the baby she's expecting."

"Sorry I don't understand you."

"Mrs Willows is pregnant!"

Gil remained montionless, trying to calm down himself then said " Pregnant?"

"Sure. About one month and a half. Can you do me this favor?"

"Off course! I'll tell her."

"Thanks Mr Grissom. Goodbye."

"Goodbye."

He hang up; Catherine was pregnant, had tried to tell him and he had ruined everything.

He felt guilty: he couldn't stand it, he didn't want to lose her and their child.

He came out of his house, drove for an half"hour and finally arrived to his destination.

He rang at her doorbell but nobody answered.

He rang again fruitlessly: nothing.

"Catherine! I know you're inside! Open the door!" he started to scream.

Nobody answered.

"Catherine open to me! I'm really sorry! I need to talk to you! Please open the door!"

Nothing.

"Please...Catherine, I need to see you! Please..."

She opened the door and said " What do you want? Why are you here?"

"Cath, I'm sorry! I didn't want to hurt you. Please forgive me! You're very important for me!"

" Gil..I can't stand this situation. I'm looking for a man that loves me and wants to spend the rest of his life with me! It's over Gil!"

"And our child?"

Catherine remained speechless for a while then she said "What are you talking about?"

"I know everything. I know you're pregnant!"

"How do..."

"Doctor Gundin called tonight! He has tried to contact you fruitlessly so he called me instead and asked me to tell you the baby is right."

"What are you going to do now?"

"What are you going to do?"

" In which way?"

" I don't want to lose you and our child! I love you Cath, I want to spend all of my life with you. Please don't leave me."

She started to cry then smiled softly.

Their lips met in a sweet kiss.

" I love you Cath .... I can't live without you! Don't leave me!" Gil said

"Never! I love you too Gil."

He held her in his arms, smiled softly and entered holding hands.
