Prologue

Catherine ran to the car and drove out of the driveway. Gil has just called and told her that he is already in the airport, it was a long and torturous week, Gil needed to attend a seminar in California and Catherine needed to stay in Vegas to run the grave shift while he's gone and to look after their daughters, Lindsey and Jannah.

When the light turned yellow, Catherine slowed down, she leaned a bit to her door, feeling tired since she barely slept the whole week, she's grateful that Gil has finally arrived, maybe now she can go to sleep peacefully with the knowledge that he is lying beside her. She yawned and blinked a couple of times, trying to focus her eyes to the road.

Meanwhile, a drunk driver of a van does not have a care on the road nor to the fact that the traffic lights has turned red as he continued driving in his drunken state.

It was too late when Catherine saw the van, everything happened so fast, and before she knew it the van has directly hit her side of the car, she swiveled around and the only reason her car stopped swiveling was because it hit a large tree.

HOURS LATER

Gil has been pacing back and forth for hours; he has talked to the doctor and was told that Catherine is indeed fine. Thanks to the seatbelt, she wasn't much harmed, but the area, which was mostly affected, was her head, since the impact of the van was there. He has been informed, that not until Catherine wakes up, they won't know for sure if there is something wrong.

"Mr. Grissom. Your wife's awake, you may see her now."

Gil let out a sigh of relief, he glanced at Jim and Nancy both of them nodding at Gil's silent request to have first a few minutes alone time with his wife. He enters the room, where a single bed placed in the middle where his beautiful wife lays. He comes closer and he sees the gash on her forehead and the dark circles around her eyes- probably from the week that he wasn't around, he was well aware that his wife has a hard time sleeping when they are not together, he should know since he's the same with her. Aside from this, she looked okay, and he thanked God she's okay.

"Hey, how are you feeling?" he asked softly as he seated by the bed.

"Just a bit dizzy. Who are you? Are you my doctor?" she asked as she made a glance at him

"You don't remember me?!"

Catherine looked at him intently, "I think I've seen you somewhere, I can't remember though."

"Do you know your name?"

"what, you think I'm a retard? Of course I do, I'm Catherine Flynn."

"Catherine, what year is it?"

"1986."
