Oh Brother!
by Sab
Yes, its me. Another one of my weird ideas and surreal fics. Unbelievable, I told myself I wouldn't be writing any more fics! And now, here I am, posting one. This is something I've had in mind for some time now, and I hope you'd like it. If someone's already written something similar to this then I apologise for that, but so far I haven't read a fic similar to it.

Prologue

It is yet another glorious day for Gil, he is walking side by side with the woman he holds very dearly in his heart, and as she talks to him animatedly, he couldn't stop himself from smiling and just listening to the melodic sound of her voice.

"I'll be pulling a double, you want to grab breakfast after shift?" Catherine asks

"As long as it's your treat."

"You want me to cook?"

"Oh god no!" he mocks and feigns horror; Catherine playfully punches him on the arm. "I was just kidding! You know how much I love your cooking my dear."

"Whatever Grissom!" she says rolling her eyes and going on another direction, leaving Gil watching her retreating back. He sighs to himself as she watches her walk away from him.

Hours later …

Catherine walks her way to her friend's office with a smile on her face, feeling very excited for their breakfast together. Since she's been promoted as a Swing shift supervisor, it's been a while since she spent some alone time with her friend.

Catherine creeps her way inside Gil's ajar office door, getting inside she watches as Gil places back the receiver of the phone with a undecipherable look on his face.

"Are you okay?" she asks as she walks nearer to him, without so much as a reply or a sign that he has heard her she calls for his name once more, "Gil!"

"Cath!!" his eyes snap up at her, startled that he wasn't alone in the office.

"Are you okay?"

"Uh. Yeah."

"Who was on the phone?"

"My mother's nurse. My mother has a message for me."

"You seem so dazed. Is it bad?"

"I'm not sure."

"What's your mother's message?"

"She said my younger brother is coming to see me."

"I thought you're an only child?"

"That's what I thought too."
