Fun and Games: Drabbles

Falling by Justine
A/N: this is a bit angsty—look at it from a bit of mental perspective and think "Lady Heather's Box"

She stumbles along the sidewalk, mocking stares glanced her way. Tears stream down her cheeks, and her hair is matted together. Her body is trembling—trembling violently. She takes another step forward, but everything turns upside down. Her body is smote against the ground. Her blue eyes are clouded in anxiety and perplexity. She leans against the brick building, its walls are painted with grime and ordure. Her body collapses against the filthy wall, despite all passerby. Her world is turning, her mind is aching, and her heart is being tortured. But just as she feels like there's no going back—like she's ready to give it up—he reaches out his hand and lifts her off the ground.

She's falling and he's her only succor.
