When the evidence suggests the victim died from asphyxia due to a large object on his chest, Grissom and his team track the killer to an APAPSP convention, "Association to Promote Acceptance of Plus-Sized People." Meanwhile, a large sum of cash and betting slips are found near a dead body on the outskirts of Vegas, leading Catherine's team into the world of high-stakes gambling.
Gil: "Hide beetle. This guy's been here at least two weeks. Number four buckshot, maybe?"

David: "Well, his pockets are empty. There's no wallet or any other kind of ID."
Gil: "What'd be the point of blowing someone's face off if you're going to leave their driver's license?"
David: "Well, he's all yours."
David stands and leaves the crime scene, passing Catherine on his way out.
"Hey, Cath."
Catherine: "Hey."
She makes her way over to Gil
"Grissom. What's the deal? You're coming to my crime scenes before I get to
them now?"

Gil: "Weren't you on a 4-19 in north town?"
Catherine: "Guess you missed me."
Gil: "I'm just documenting, then I'm leaving."

Catherine: "Oh. Ew."
Gil: "Lot of animal activity."

Catherine: "Well, out here, I guess there's, uh, rodents, coyote, buzzards ... occasional mountain lion. What do we have here? A little ice?"
Brass: "The end of Rainbow Canyon. And this must be the pot of gold."

Brass: "American Football Franchise Association. That league folded about twenty years ago."
Catherine: "Now, that's what I call a rat hole. Shotgun wounds tend to be separate hits from individual pellets. But only if the shooter's far enough away from the target. This guy was shot at close range.
