| Author's Note: It came to me, as brief as it is, just as I was about to go to bed. Hm. Had to post it here and ff.net... :) |
The cool metal pole pressed against my back Is as cold as my husband’s smile. If I had but an instant to take something back, I know that I’d choose my vow. To love and to cherish are words he forgets, And I admit that I may let them slide... As I run home to Grissom, His blankets so soft. At his townhouse, the bus lets me off. I love him like family, And hate that he’s not. As my daughters adores him... Her father does not. I’m leaving the drugs and the drinking behind, But the name ‘Catherine Willows’ will stay. I’ve forgotten my old life, abandoned my name, And shall live independent, With nothing the same. As I drive to a crime scene With Grissom, Again. |
