Part 1

FLASHES OF LAS VEGAS BY NIGHT.

She, a red-haired leggy woman, walks to her car muttering some expletives about a certain 'Sara'.

"He is still hung on her, I'm sure", she says opening the door of her car and turning the engine on.

Trying to turn the engine on; it doesn't work. She turns the key for a second time, in slow motion (like the first scene of 'Boom').

FLASH

CRIME SCENE

Gil, Cath and Brass are on the Crime Scene.

Gil: C4. One turn to prepare it, two to blow up.

Cath: How do you know? (Teasing) God, Gil, is there something you don't know?

Gil: there is a lot I don't know. No-one knows everything.

Brass: So, lovebirds (Gil and Cath frown), what about this?

Cath: No fingerprints obviously, but we found some hair that doesn't belong to the victim. Strange, they should have burnt.

Gil: Her car had been wired in a hurry. But it was enough.

Brass: Maureen Kramer, according to what witnesses have said, was out dining with her boyfriend, some. uh. Theodore Stiers. He left the restaurant before she did.

Gil: So, we're gonna have a few quiet words with Mr. Stiers. Has he been contacted?

Brass: Yeah, he said he would be at the District (I don't think they have Interrogation Rooms in Crime Labs) in 10 minutes.

AT THE DISTRICT.

Our trio gets inside the Interrogation Room. They are waiting for Mr. Stiers to arrive. Cath goes a second to the bathroom, so she isn't present at the moment he arrives.

When he arrives, Gil and Brass are surprised as hell. In front of them stands the carbon copy of not-so-dearly departed Edward 'Eddie' Willows; same black-graying hair, same blue eyes, same lean but strong build.

Brass speaks first.

Brass: So, you are. (reads Ted's file) Mr. Theodore Stiers, Crime Scene Investigator for the Maron County Crime Lab in Boston, Massachussetts?

Ted: Yes, I am.

Brass: Why here in Vegas?

Ted: A vacation with my girlfriend, Maureen.

Cath arrives right now.

Cath: Hey Gil, has Mr. Stiers. (she sees him) Oh. I can't believe it. it can't be.

Gil: (thinks) Yeah, I thought the same. Just wait one second and I'll wake up in my bed. (sighs, still thinking) Poor Cath.

END PART 1.
