Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
A collection of symptoms, ranging from irritability and difficulty sleeping to emotional numbness and recurring flashbacks, that result from experiencing a severe trauma. Common causes of PTSD include war, natural disaster and witnessing or experiencing violence. If left untreated PTSD can lead to depression, substance abuse, or even suicide.
