Toxicology

Detects the absence or presence of drugs, chemicals, gases, metals, and other toxins in blood, body fluids, and tissues. Can be used to determine cause of death, a person's use of drugs/chemicals, or even an explanation of behavior. In 1813, Spanish scientist Matthieu Orfila, now considered the father of modern toxicology, was the first to use a microscope for chemical analysis of bodliy fluids.
